Article:

The Open / Close event is currently available for layers, and is useful for things like firing pixels or triggering other actions when a layer is opened (or closed). You can use this event type whether your layer is visible or hidden on page load.

How to setup an open or close event:

You will need to set up your layer first, if you haven’t done so already see the How to Add a New Layer guide for details.

1. Select your layer, and then in the Layers dialogue, click on the three-dot menu on the top-right-hand side of the layer you want to add your actions to and then click on Actions and Events.

2. Then click on Add New Action.

3. At Event Type, select Open/Close, and then select one of the following options:

  • On layer open - set an action when the layer is open.
  • On layer close - set an action when the layer is close.

4. At Action you have the option to show or hide a target, display a sticky video/video player, run a script or start/pause a countdown timer.

5. When you’ve chosen your required action, click on ‘Target’ to select your target.

NOTE: Your layer should be set to display start in order to use the ‘On layer close’ option.
