What you should know before setting up your Convertri account

Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of the platform:

Browser compatibility

The Convertri platform is specifically designed for Google Chrome. While you can access your account from other browsers, we highly recommend using Chrome for the best editing experience. (Note: Your published pages will look great on any browser.)

If you don’t have Chrome, you can get it here for free here: https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/

Mobile optimization

Convertri will automatically generate a mobile version of your page. However, because we offer total free-form layout control, you should always check the mobile view. Spend a few minutes adjusting elements to ensure they accurately reflect your brand.

Remember to check that new elements have been added properly whenever you edit.

Support and feedback

We’re here to help! We’d love to tell you Convertri was 100% bug-free and nothing would ever go wrong - but we’re constantly adding new features and updates as our users suggest them – a few screws are bound to come loose. If you have any problems, please get in touch with us at support@convertri.com. We’ll do our best to get back to you within one business day.

Now, to set up your account.

Step 1: Secure your Convertri account access

To get started, you need to secure your account access.

You should have received a welcome email containing a link to set up your unique Convertri password.

Password rules: You can use any password you like, provided it is at least 6 characters long.

Best practice: Make it memorable but secure. Keep a record of your login details in a password manager.

Once your password is set, you will be automatically logged in. By default, Convertri keeps you logged in on that browser until you manually log out.

Step 2: Set up your first domain

This is the most critical step. This is the place where your content will live on the web. Convertri works on a system of Funnels and Pages published to domains.

Understanding the Structure

  • Funnels: A group of pages designed to sell a product (e.g., a sales page, upsell, and thank you page).
  • Pages: The individual steps within your funnel.

Funnels and Pages are published on domains. These domains can either be convertri.com subdomains or your own custom domains.

Creating a Subdomain

When you first log in, you will be prompted to create your first site on a convertri.com subdomain.

The first time you log into Convertri, you’ll see a screen like this:

This is where you create your first site on a convertri.com subdomain. Any pages published on that site will go on a URL, for example, if you type house plants in the box, your pages will be published on houseplants.convertri.com

Pro Tip: It’s good to use your brand name or something related to the product you’re selling. If you’re not sure yet, just enter your name - it’s easy to create more sites later.

  1. Enter your account name, and click Create My Domain.
  2. That’s it! You’ve created your first domain, and can now add funnels and pages.

Step 3: Essential page account settings to configure

Now that your domain is active, you need to finalize the details in your profile settings.

Custom Domains

You can also publish pages to a limited number of domains you own, or to your own hosting, using the HTML export or WordPress plugin features. You can find out about those here.

Change your password

If you want to change your password at any time, it’s simple:

  1. Click on Account in the top right-hand corner of the Dashboard.
  2. Click Profile Settings.
  3. Click Change Password.
  4. Enter your old password, new password, and then your new password again.
  5. Click Update Password.

Set your currency

If you plan on selling products within Convertri, it’s a good idea to set up your currency before you connect to a payment processor.

Tip: You cannot change the currency of your account after you’ve made your first sale.

  1. Click on Account in the top right-hand corner of the Dashboard.
  2. Click Profile Settings.
  3. Scroll down to Currency Settings.
  4. Choose your currency from the dropdown menu. (Please make sure that your Stripe account can receive charges in your selected currency.)
  5. Click Save

Affiliate program

If you want to sign up for our affiliate program and earn commission on purchases of Convertri through your sites, it’s easy to start. A small ‘Powered by Convertri’ badge will show on your sites by default unless you switch it off, either account-wide or on individual pages.

  1. Click on Affiliate in the top toolbar of the Dashboard.
  2. Copy and paste your affiliate link anywhere you want to earn commission.
  3. Click Settings in the left-hand menu, and enter your PayPal email address (this is required to receive payments).

Click Promote in the left-hand menu, and click the Show ‘Powered by Convertri’ Badge on Your Pages checkbox to toggle the badge on or off on all your sites at once.

Tip: If you want to turn it on or off for one page only, you can do this by opening the page in the Page Builder and editing the Page Settings.

Common setup mistakes to avoid

As you begin your journey, watch out for these common pitfalls:

  • Ignoring mobile view. Never publish without checking the mobile version of your page. Elements may shift during the automatic generation process.
  • Currency lock-in. Remember that once you process a sale, your currency is locked. Ensure this is correct before you launch.
  • Missing pages. A complete funnel usually requires a thank-you page. Ensure all steps in your user journey are built and connected.

What to do after your Convertri account is set up

Congratulations! You have successfully set up your account.

You are now ready to:

  1. Create new funnels.
  2. Add custom domains (using your own hosting or HTML export).
  3. Start driving traffic to your landing pages.
