How To Add a Cookie Consent Footer

Convertri has an automatic cookie consent footer you can use which will stop any script you've marked as requiring consent from running until your visitor has clicked the 'OK' button.
Consent only needs to be given by your user once for the whole domain.  Once consent has been given, Convertri will remember and won't show them the footer again (and will run any scripts you've marked as requiring consent automatically) for any other page on that domain.  Convertri remembers visitors by leaving a 'consent given' cookie, so they'll see the footer again if they visit from a different device, use incognito mode, or clear their cookie cache.
To set up the cookie consent footer on your domain:

1. Go to the Account dashboard and select Domains from the left-hand menu.

2. On the domain you want to turn the footer on for, click More.

3. A pop-up will appear. Choose the fourth option from the menu, which is Cookie Consent.

4. Toggle on ‘Show cookie consent footer’.  You can change the heading and body text of the footer if you like.

5.  Press Update.

This is now set up on your domain. It will look like this on your page:

How To Make a Script Wait Until the Footer Is Accepted

Now you have your footer enabled, you need to tell Convertri which scripts need to wait to run until consent is given. The ‘require consent’ toggle can be seen here:

You can set scripts to require consent at the funnel, domain and account level. To mark a script as requiring consent:
1. Select 'Add New Script' or edit an existing script.
2. In the Add/Edit modal, switch on 'Require consent'. This will cause the script to be blocked until consent has been given by the viewer. If the script is set to 'run on page load', it will run immediately when consent is given. If the script is set to not run on page load, it will fire when triggered by an event.
3. Click Save.

How To Block Convertri Cookies Until Consent Is Given

Convertri uses cookies to collect some analytics information.  These are placed automatically when a visitor arrives on your page, but if you wish you can also block these using the cookie consent footer.
To do this:
1. Go to the Account dashboard and select Domains from the left-hand menu.
2. On the domain where you want Convertri's cookies blocked, click More.
3. A pop-up will appear, choose the fourth option from the menu, which is Cookie Consent.

4. Toggle on ‘Block Convertri cookies until consent’ and press Update.
Note that you will need to use the Cookie Consent footer to block Convertri's cookies.
Please remember to republish all affected pages so this can take effect.
