Payment Consent Box

A payment consent box appears on the modal checkout when your user is going to purchase a product which has a trial and then after the trial there will be reoccurring payments. This is so the user understands that there will be continuing payments after their initial sign up. This prevents them from being upset in the future because they didn’t understand what they were signing up for.

To see the payment consent box and the text it shows:

1. Go to Cart -> Products and select New Product.

2. Name the product something memorable. The price set-up will look similar to the box below:

NOTE: If you untick the box labelled ‘ Require Consent For Future Payments’ then this box will not appear at the checkout.

3. Once your product is set up correctly, press Save. Now navigate to the page which you want to add this product to.

4. Go the Elements tray and add a Submit button to the page. Then change the button’s Mode to Open Checkout.

5. Go the top toolbar and select Products and then from the Product dropdown select your recurring product with a trial.

6. Add in a redirect URL and any other checkout features you would like and then press Save and Close.

7. Publish your page and click the blue View Page from the top left-hand corner.

8. Click your Open Checkout button and you will see this checkout screen:

9. You are able to see the consent tickbox and interact with it as a user. Payments can’t be processed unless it is ticked.
