Why To Add Image Alt-Tags?

There are two main reasons to add image Alt-Tags in Convertri. They are both quite important reasons and so we would recommend adding them to all the images on your pages.
1. To help those who are visually impaired. When they land on your website, they will have software which scans the page and tells them what is on it. This won’t work on an image because the software doesn’t know what it is, and so can’t tell the user. If you add an alt-tag, then the software does know, giving those who are visually impaired a better experience on your website
2. When a search engine scans your page to decide your ranking on a page of results, it looks at how relevant your page is to what has been searched. The more relevant your page is, the higher it will appear in the search results. Giving the search engine as much information as possible about your page makes it believe you are more relevant when keywords are searched in. But, like the software used by visually impaired people, it doesn’t know what an image is. Describing the image in alt-tags will tell it what the image is, and take this information into account when it decides your website’s page ranking
How To Add Image Alt-Tags?
